If there is a live animal in the snare call the relevant animal welfare charity. We do not advise trying to release an animal yourself as the animal could be injured and require medical attention. Record the incident using our Snarewatch report form.

Watch Bill Oddie in Snares Uncovered

We are adding each of the SnareWatch reports into a geographical area within the United Kingdom, so at some point in the near future these reports will be subdivided into categories. For now they are listed together in date order.

A 'snare' that was made with an aerosol and plastic string was found in a garden in the Seacroft area of Leeds.

A fox was caught in a snare on Binevenagh mountain in Northern Ireland.

A couple walking on farmland in the Wareham area discovered the deer caught in the contraption.

Several wire snares were found in a wood in the Uley/Tetbury area in Gloucestershire.

The body of the deer was found by a hillwalker in Threestone Plantation, on the eastern side of Hedgehope Hill.

A man walking his dogs in Phoines Estate in the Cairngorms National Park, was caught in a snare which had been set on a vehicle track.

A driver stopped to attend to a cat that she witnessed being hit by a car in Ashford in Kent.

A muntjac deer was killed by a snare in Dunmow, Essex.

A cat was caught in a home-made snare in Toynton All Saints, Spilsby.
