If there is a live animal in the snare call the relevant animal welfare charity. We do not advise trying to release an animal yourself as the animal could be injured and require medical attention. Record the incident using our Snarewatch report form.

Watch Bill Oddie in Snares Uncovered

A driver stopped to attend to a cat that she witnessed being hit by a car in Ashford in Kent.

The cat was found to have lacerations round his neck which were caused by wire which was still attached. It was suspected the wire was a snare.

The cat was taken to a vet but did not survive the incident.
