A fox was caught in a snare on Binevenagh mountain in Northern Ireland.
A passer-by noticed the animal struggling in the contraption and released him before he sustained injuries or death.
Several snares had been found on the mountain at an earlier date. A mountain goat had also been found snared and was released without harm.

A fawn, which was extemely distressed, was found struggling in a wire snare on the edge of a farmers field.
